Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

If you watched this movie without knowing anything about it and without any credits and you had to guess the director you would probably guess right. David Lynch makes strange movies. Sometimes they are very good ('The Elephant Man', 'The Straight Story' and in my opinion 'Blue Velvet' and 'Mulholland Dr.') but even the good ones are strange in a way. I am not sure about 'Wild at Heart'. There were parts I liked and there were parts I didn't like so much.

To write a review about a movie like this (which won the Golden Palm in Cannes and had one Oscar nomination for Diane Ladd, a supporting character) is not easy. The story is about Sailor (Nicolas Cage) and Lula (Laura Dern) who are on a road trip after Sailor is released from prison. It drives Lula's mother (Ladd) crazy to know that her daughter is with Sailor and therefor she hires some guys to kill him. We see Isabella Rossellini, Harry Dean Stanton, Crispin Glover, J.E. Freeman and Willem Dafoe as supporting characters and they seem to be even more crazy than the mother of Lula.

Every scene has a moment where you realize how weird the movie is, even the good scenes. I understand if you like it a lot, I enjoyed it. It is definitely not for everyone but if you like other Lynch-movies, Nicolas Cage, Laura Dern or movies that are very different you might like this one.
