Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

"Raising Hell" is what the title means. The story is about a boy, Doinel. He is not raising hell, but everyone around him thinks he does. They assume things, they have opinions because they have heard things about him. His teacher, his parents, all of them. He is very misunderstood. Not that he is a very sweet boy. He skips school, he tells the teacher his mom died and a few minutes later she shows up, he steals. But instead they try to help him, understand him, they condemn him.

‘Les Quatre Cents Coups' is a beautiful story, touching and in some scenes very funny. It is based on director François Truffaut's own youth (Doinel finds his escape in the cinema just like Truffaut). One of the best know French films ever made is a classic masterpiece.
