Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

'28 Days Later' is a better horror movie than most others in the same genre. It is intelligent and focuses on other things you might expect. Jim (Cilliam Murphy) wakes up in a hospital 28 days after activists have freed primates carrying a virus, in the movie simply referred to as "rage". Jim doesn't know this and the hospital seems deserted. Then he goes outside and he sees a deserted London. The shots here look absolutely great, as was the Times Square in 'Vanilla Sky'. After a while he enters a church and is attacked by an infected person, chased by some others and finally saved by Selena (Naomie Harris) and Mark (Noah Huntley). They explain him what happened and how you have about 20 seconds to kill a just infected person. You can get infected if you are bitten by an infected person or if infected blood enters your body in any way.

They meet two others, Frank (Brendan Gleeson) and his teenage daughter Hannah (Megan Burns). They have heard a radio signal that says they have to go to Manchester for the answer. After a little argument they decide to try it because there's nothing else. They do find an army base but what happens there I will not reveal. What good is in this last part is that we see how human beings are able to do certain things when there seems to be no hope at all.

The movie has a lot of suspense and not as much gore as you would think with a movie like this. The ending was not bad but could be better. A secret is revealed by a sergeant on the army base and because of that secret I was curious what would happen after the events we see in the movie. Still, this is a very intelligent horror/science fiction movie, shot on video which gives the movie a better look. It is also an interesting look on human nature, especially the second half. Even if you normally don't like movies like this you can be surprised by this one.
