Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

In 'Jeux d'Enfants' the two main characters take their game so far you almost stop caring for them. Julien (Guillauma Canet) and Sophie (Marion Cotillard) have been best friends forever and since they are young they play a game. They dare each other since they are kids. When you have a certain object, a tin box, you are allowed to dare the other. In the beginning this gives a lot of laughs for the audience, but when they grow older they only torment each other. You are not even sure whether they love each other or just use their friend for the game.

That the movie is funny in the first half makes it watchable, for the story that is. On the technical level this movie is terrific. Especially the cinematography looks great. If the movie had a story that could live up to the technical achievement we might have had something great here. Now we have a watchable movie with a nice start, a middle part where we don't understand decisions from the characters and an ending that is probably the right one, but feels very wrong. Watch it for the start and for its looks, but don't expect too much.
