John Hancock has superpowers but is not exactly a superhero. He drinks and when he fights crime him capturing bad guys comes with a price. Literally. It is not that he asks for money, but he destroys about everyting around him in the process of being heroic. He hates the attention he gets and makes sure people will understand that.
