Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

Together with movies like 'The Silence of the Lambs', 'Schindler's List', 'Pulp Fiction' and 'American Beauty' it is considered as one of the greatest from the 1990s. 'Fargo' is made by the Coen brothers and their movies are always filled with people you don't meet every day.

Showalter (Steve Buscemi) and Grimsrud (Peter Stormare) have to kidnap the wife of Jerry Lundegaard (William H. Macy). Jerry needs money, the father of his wife Wade (Harve Presnell) has a lot of money and will not give it to him so he comes up with this kidnap-plan. Showalter and Grimsrud will get a part of the ransom the father has to pay, Jerry gets the rest. Things go not as planned and Showalter and Grimsrud leave three dead bodies on a road between Minneapolis and Brainerd (where the movie is set, Showalter and Grimsrud are from Fargo). This triple homicide is investigated by pregnant Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand). I don't want to say much more about the story because I don't want to spoil some nice surprises and a very interesting story.

The genre of the movie is very hard to decide. There are great moments of comedy. There is also suspense and some bloody violence. The story is pretty good, the performances are amazing. Frances McDormand, Steve Buscemi, Peter Stormare and especially William H. Macy, as a guy who is not that smart, are great.
