Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

May be this movie is just another Bronx tale. Some parts do feel very familiar, but I have to say that this a good Bronx tale and in some ways different than what we are used to. The gangsters are in some ways the same as in, let's say 'Goodfellas', but in some ways very different. Chazz Palminteri is the leader Sonny and he looks more controlled than the gangsters we saw in 'Goodfellas'. Sonny loves a boy, Calogero. When the boy was nine he witnessed a murder committed by Sonny and he didn't tell the police. The biggest part of the movie Calogero, C for his friends, is 17. His father Lorenzo played by Robert De Niro of course loves the boy too. He doesn't like C to hang around with guys like Sonny. Sonny and Lorenzo both want the best for the kid, they both teach him things and they are probably both right.

The story is good although it is not the main issue. We have the two 'fathers' for the boy, we have black people coming to the next neighborhood (it is 1968), and C who is in love with a black girl. It is touching, funny and I guess it is very true. A good movie.
