Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

Here again is Jim Carrey as Ace Ventura, pet detective. I can be really quick about this sequel to 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective'. If you liked the first, you will probably like this one as well. If you did not, well, than you will not like this one either. I liked the first one, maybe because I like Jim Carrey, so I like this one. That does not mean the movie is good. In fact it is not really, but that is not what this movie wants. It wants people to laugh, it wants to show Jim Carrey and what he can do. I laughed, but again, that does not say anything since it is very much a matter of taste. I can see people liking films such as 'Hot Shots!' or anything from Mel Brooks like 'Ace Ventura' as well.

The story? Ace Ventura is hired to find a holy animal. Two African tribes will slaughter each other if the animal is not found before a wedding that will bind the tribes. That Ace is scared of the chosen animal is a small problem. The plot is as silly as it can be, but you watch a film like this for its moments. I liked close to all of them. You have to see for yourself. I can add that it stars some respected actors like Simon Callow, Bob Gunton and Sophie Okonedo (Oscar nominated for 'Hotel Rwanda').
