Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

A movie like 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective' is very hard to review. It is not hard to say what happened on screen but to say it is good or bad is a problem. It is the same as with a spoof. You can like the silly jokes and think they are great or you can think they are childish or simply not funny. I guess here it is the same.

I laughed. I laughed a lot actually. Not because all of the jokes were great, but simply because they were silly. A movie like this you don't see every day. It is a show of one man, Jim Carrey, and in my opinion he does a great job. What helps in appreciating this kind of humor is the fact that I know Carrey is a pretty good actor. With 'The Truman Show' and 'Man on the Moon' he proved he knows how to act and here he shows his other side.

This is a bad movie, but in my opinion very funny. A lot of other people will hate it. To what group you belong is for yourself to decide.
